My buddy Mike was right. He wrote: "put the word "bolts" in any posting and out come the responses."

I posted a one liner, merely typing "bolts" and within three minutes there were three responses.

Now how come when I posted about beer can bashies I received no response whatsoever? I would have thought that beer can bashies might solicit several responses, or at least inquiries, but no one is interested in alternative pro anymore.
By the way, beer can bashies are for real. I've hung on them and fallen on them and they are bomber if placed by an expert.

simple tom, the beer can bashie post seemed like a troll. this one seems for real, and should get a lot of discussion.

Hey Tom, thanks for the kind word on the other thread. By the time I got back on, it would have been self-serving to cite it. I consider you a friend too. I'm eager for November 4 to pass so there's more time to get on a rope with you!

I'm sure Bob will be a friend too, when I meet him...and if he's not as growly bear scary as his posts :)

ATTENTION:

After ruthlessly wiring the Bastille Crack using the bolts, I sent the line on entirely natural gear yesterday. The line protects extremely well with small gear; I got a 00 Ballnut in while still standing on the ground, then no gear for the next 65 ft with the crux at 50 ft. At 65ft I placed a #0 Friend with only two tipped-out lobes in contact, then ran it out to the anchors. I've tentatively rated the line 5.13c X. Obviously, since it takes gear so readily, I will be chopping the bolts as soon as possible. It's a real shame that such a beautiful line with such abundant and excellent gear placements was bolted to begin with.

Tom, I don't believe that "bolts" are the real issue here. The problem as I see it, is having the correct tools to get the job done.
