So I think I get it!
The approaches are to long , Routes are too run out on old bolts, The rock is hard? The crowds, views and lines could kill you.
Well four cars in the pull out plus mine five.
Saw no one on the hike up to the Dome.
Saw we think one climber on The Bishop.
Heard one person yell maybe three times (that could ruin the day)
Did five pitches . No climbing was too run out, only clipped new style bolts (Thanks to whom ever did that) Had no trouble rapping back to the base. Did not have to yell louder to be herd or have to get in line.
So I get it, the rock sucks , no parking, lines, approaches to long, horrible views and I will be back next weekend weather permitting.

Shhhh....That was the most cars I have seen at the pullout ever. The rock does suck, the hikes are long ( and STEEP!).

You can send some dough to the ASCA for the replacement though if you enjoyed the new bolts.

Oh how I miss the platte, too much eldo lately. just be careful at turkey rocks or the bucksnort slab as you might actually have to wait in line and you know the rock isn't even close to worth the wait ;) if solitude is your thing check out A-hole rock or Da butts, or the castle but the approach for those is not quite as easy as turkey rocks or the bucksnort. Cardiac crack is a pure joy, can't wait for the central corner and the center route only to mention a few.

No balogna. The approach to the Castle is killer diller. It's difficult to avoid private land and the last several hundred feet of hike is plagued with granite gravel that feels like hiking in snow. No one will be up there, rest assured.

yes climbing in the Platte is the worst in Colorado, definitely... that's what i would say if it were true. long approaches, run out climbs on janky bolts? isn't that what makes climbing so awesome? id have to say yes

raptor closures just make the prize that much better after the wait, and private property means you just get to meet more people :)

Java Dome/Bali Dome experience: treacherous approach to base (bouldering with rock crumbling under hand and foot) for indiscernable routes, which had chopped bolts and anchors, and major run out on exfoliating rock. (Pete Hubbel said: there's a bolt war in the area.)
Yep, there were no lines, no climbers any where, no parking issues. With good reason: it wasn't worth the effort.

Sorry, we have a hard time keeping that fence around Boulder, but sometimes they escape and find their way down South. We are working on this "malicious attack".

Yes, Splatte bad, very bad!!!

Sims,

Your Plattenum card has officially been deactivated. You are now relegated to bolt-clipping at the Sport Park.

I will have to agree with Ken on this one. Let's revoke that Plattenum card. There were 10 cars at Cathedral Spires today. Not sure if it has anything to do with this thread but you have to wonder.

By the way, if anyone finds a Timex watch on the Center route please contact me by e-mail. Thanks.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
