Belay loops & the discussion following TS's harness failure

11/3 Daily Camera article about Todd's belay loop failure had a quote from his partner that day which indicated that Todd's nylon daisy chain had been hitched to his belay loop and over the course of time had created a lot of wear on the loop. (my paraphrasing)

My Metolius PAS is going to be moved from that loop, to spare it unnecessary wear. And based on the input of this discussion, I'm going to look into a backup for my belay loop. (The Metolius package instructs to attach it to the belay OR tie in points.)
