Squamish

Now that we're getting a bit of traffic in the Oregon and Washington areas (THANK YOU to the people who've been putting in information so far! It's looking great!), I want to find out if anyone feels up to the challenge of adding Squamish to the site. We're still thinking about how it should be organized and everything, but I think since it's such a large destination up here it'd be very worthwhile to have it included in the Northwest.

I've only driven through and have never climbed there (although it's on my list for this summer...), and I really would love to see a top-notch description and summary to get things going. If anybody feels up to the challenge or knows someone who is (a local would probably be the best), I'd love to talk it over.

Well, since Squampton is the best climbing in Washington, maybe it would be just as easy to add it to the Washington site. And since the exchange rate is about 1:1, it's not like it's really a separate country anyway.

You should definitely add squamish to the site!

I don't see why it should be any harder to add than any other area, it just has a lot of different crags. But I consider even chekamus and other crags to be squamish still.

Probably should be in a canadian section though, doesn't really seem like it should be a washington area.

No one has added any routes yet; maybe you can be the first!

Andy accepted my offer to administer Squamish, which turned into administering Canada (for now). I've been reorganizing it a bit recently and doing the "hard" work (adding areas). Hopefully we can get some momentum going and have high quality additions. Other sites have some information, but it's very sparse, not up to the MP standard at all.

I'm now a local (does three years count?) and love the climbing here.
