Description Suggest change

Lower Wall is – you guessed it – the lowest of two climbable faces up a steep side valley above the upper Hoffer Lake. Lee’s Peak north face looms above this drainage. Three short, widely-spaced routes ascend high-quality granite about 200 yards and 100 feet above the lake. Two are bolted sport routes and one is an easy trad line. All have fine, well-protected climbing but there are no anchors suitable for rapping. Can clean the last anchor and scramble down a gully 50 yds downhill (right) of the wall.

This crag is included in the 2006 Falcon guide to Rock Climbing Oregon where it’s called Lower Parker Creek Wall. Route names come from this guidebook.

Getting There Suggest change

From Anthony Lake hike up the Hoffer Lakes Trail for 0.75 mile to the upper of the two Hoffer Lakes. The Upper and Lower walls lie up the small valley to the southwest of the lake. From the trail, scramble up and around some slabs along south side of lake to a meadow. The Lower Wall is visible behind the meadow on the right side of valley. A faint trail leads to its base and beyond. It takes 30-40 minutes to hike to the Lower Wall from the boat ramp parking area on Anthony Lake.
