Description

This is a nice, limestone cliffband mostly hidden in the forest. It's hard to spot due to its orientation and can really only be seen from a distance on top of Purgatory Resort. Reminiscent of Cascade Canyon Limestone, there are good sections of rock mixed in with not-so-good rock, but some decent potential for a few sport routes exist.

Getting There

Drive up Hermosa Park Road behind Purgatory Resort, and park at the Cutthroat Trailhead parking area. Walk back along Hermosa Park Road to the cattleguard, and find an old overgrown road grade along a barbed wire post fence. Follow this road grade (heading east) to the top of the cliff, and find the descent marked by a cairn.
