Description
Monteverde as the name goes in spanish is greeen.
Green in the tropics that usually means it comes with a lot of water, keeping it lush and cool.
Getting There
Getting from San José to Monteverde takes 3.5 to 5 hours.
Your best options range from a direct, door-to-door shuttle (4 hours, ~$55–$70), renting a car (3 to 3.5 hours), or taking the budget public bus (5 hours, ~$8).
Driving: Fast and flexible, but requires navigating winding, narrow mountain roads (Route 606).
Take Route 27 to the Interamericana Highway (Route 1), and then turn onto Route 606.
