Baunei Climbing

Baunei is a beautiful old town perched above a massive valley a few miles inland on the east coast of Sardinia. There are over 30 crags within a short drive from Baunei, all bolted limestone. Many crags have incredible views of the colossal limestone cliffs and the endless blue of Mediterranean, which really adds to the overall atmosphere while climbing here. Some of Sardinia's most iconic multipitches (Aguglia di Goloritze, Punta Giradili, and more) can be found here, alongside a nice variety of single pitch routes. The style ranges from overhanging tufas to long technical slabs, and everything in between. Having a vehicle is recommended as most of the crags would be quite a long walk from Baunei or Santa Maria Navarrese.
