Description Suggest change

A somewhat obscure granite area near Halifax, seemingly more popular with hikers and fishermen, but with two wave-beaten little crags and a smattering of problems in a pristine marine setting. A short hike through dense woodland opens up onto the North Atlantic where the trail deposits you atop half the climbing. Another walk along the undulating shelf to the south finally brings you to the High Head where a vertical curtain of stone abuts the incoming waves.

Getting There Suggest change

Make your way to the parking for the Dr. Bill Friedman Nature Reserve, aka The High Head Hiking Trail, at the end of Hages Lane near Prospect Bay and begin the short hike from there.
