Description

Space Pin is the prominent spire seen to the north when you reach the Foolhen Trail intersection from FS Road 402C. It has six routes on its east face, including sport, mixed, and all trad lines, including a two-pitcher. They are clustered in two sectors, with three routes near the southern end of the face (climbers left) and three at the northern end (climbers right). A 60 m rope works on Space Pin.

Getting There

Access for Campfire Pin East, Space Pin, and Clothes Pin starts from the same spot. Follow trail from end of FS Road 402C to intersection with Foolhen Trail as you would for all northern pins. Turn left on Foolhen and descend slope to creek. Immediately after crossing creek leave trail heading right, upstream. Follow base of slab in front of you up and right to northeast. You will first come to routes on Campfire’s east face.
For Space Pin, head due east from Campfire East across a forested basin, turning Space Pin at its south end and staying as high as possible. The left-most (southern) routes on Space Pin’s east face are encountered quickly, all starting from the base of a large tree.
