Description
The North End has a number of safe, moderate climbs. It’s a great area for those new to climbing, learning to lead, with kids, or just wanting a low stress, fun day out. It has a variety of styles, but the majority of climbs are sport bolted slabs and face. In general, cruxes are short and always well protected. A 70m rope will get you up and down everything here, but an 80m is better for some climbs. All climbs have steel lower-offs.
Like most of the rest of Rock Creek, the cliffs get sun from morning to mid-afternoon. In summer this makes them hot before they go into the shade. Shoulder season is perfect in the sun.
Getting There
Park as for the Gong Show Wall, at the gravel parking lot on the left 4.5 miles up Rock Creek Road, just before Big Meadow Campground. Cross the road, walk down to the campground, and follow a trail on the right just before Campsite #1 (don’t walk through the campsite if there are people using it). Cross the creek on the logs, and turn left. After ~10 yards, you will see an open space on the right leading up into the talus field. Head uphill here, following cairns first to the right than up through the boulders until you emerge on the sandy slope. Follow more cairns up the slope until you reach first the Lower Tier on your left, and a little further up the slope, the Upper Tier. The approach climbs about 500 feet (150m) over a half mile (800m).

You can also approach from the Gong Show Wall, although this trail is a bit longer, not as well established and crosses very loose sandy slopes. From the talus near the base of Wages of Skin, follow cairns across the slopes to the north. You should aim for the slabs approximately 200m across the slope, this is the left hand side of the Lower Tier. From the parking, this approach is about 0.7 miles (1.1km). This trail is not nearly as well used, or marked, and is annoyingly loose and sandy, but might be the better option for those with small children or dogs who might not go as well through the boulders on the direct approach.
