Description
The Dragon Wall is a giant wall of mostly undeveloped limestone. The rocks can be pretty sharp but you don't usually feel like they're going to damage your rope as it is still pretty clean rock. It is a big adventure and you're going to spend most of your time in the sun. So the wall can be best climbed in the early season. Early April is possible, but its toasty and you'll want to get started early as well as bring sun protection.
Getting There
The climbing area is around 1 hour from Sulimaniya proper. Your best current access is to put Jasana Cave into your google maps and head nearly to the cave. When you round the corner and see the cave in front of you, keep an eye out on your left for a dirt road that skirts under the mountain and heads toward the Dragon Wall. You can take some smaller vehicles down this road, although it might not be recommended, especially in some areas as the road can get quite steep. Whether you park just off the paved road or drive down the dirt road, you'll travel until you get to a nice open area that is about in line with the Dragon Wall. At this point just head up as there is not much of a trail yet. Try to stay on something that seems like an established trail and it may help build one.
