Description
A long, SSE facing, broken cliff band of quality limestone. Mostly single pitch sport routes in the 5.8 to 5.11 range, with a high concentration of routes around 5.9 to 10b. An excellent winter spot if there is sun and no/little wind.
Getting There
Baus Roux is located in the Peillon area North of Monaco. The approach is from the town of Saint-Martin de Peille (not from Peillon!)
Drive North on the D53/Route de Saint Martin de Peille to the Northern edge of town (just before the town exit sign). Turn left/West then sweep right and down the hill (recycling station to your right) to a sharp left hand turn/switchback. Continue for another 50 yards and park on your right/West.
At the SW end of the parking area at sign post Balise No. 582 take the slight downhill trail to the North (Chapelle St-Pancrace, Peille Village, Peillon-Village). Just before reaching a stone bridge cut sharp left at a sign for 'Peillon-Village, Ste-Thecle'/Baliste #581. At a Y-junction (left going up) stay right on the main/downhill trail. Cross a little/low stone bridge across a creek bed. Roughly 100' after the bridge, just before reaching a slight crest in an uphill section, turn North/right at a small/faint trail at a cairn.
Hike up the narrow/steep/rocky trail/switchbacks through bushes, then open space, to arrive at the base/route 'Passage a Tacte.' Approach time is approx. 20-25 minutes.
