Description
A remote area at Cowell that holds a small number of quality problems including the namesake, "The Crypt Keeper" V13, and vast potential for development. The main hindrance to its development is the lengthy approach. Hopefully this page may get some more climbers psyched on this obscure area and get some development happening.
Getting There
Drive towards Invasion Wall, but continue past for roughly 0.5 miles until you reach a right turn in the road and an ATV trail on the left. Follow this trail for about 5-10 minutes and you will hit the beginning of the hillside covered in rock.
If you wish to explore the area, continue down a winding trail and hike along the cliff line. Hundreds of undeveloped problems will be located along the edge and on freestanding boulders.
To get to The Crypt Keeper, and avoid an unpleasantly long hike on a slope, stay above the cliffline and walk directly to the GPS pin, expect lots of bushwhacking. There are several spots along the broken cliffline that are an easy scramble down to the boulder. In total, the hike boulder is roughly 30 minutes from the parking.
