In Maltatal everything from bouldering to sport climbing to alpine multipitches and ice climbing is possible. The valley is about 20 km long with the last 14 km on a toll road winding up to a large damn.
There are multiple crags and boulder fields along the road. Approaches vary from 30 seconds (Kreuzwand) to multiple hours (Hochalmspitze).
There is a hotel (Berghotel Malta) at the end of the toll road. Alternatively, there are multiple accommodations and two campgrounds in the town before the toll.

Follow directions to the town "Malta" and continue along the "Maltatalstraße" northwest into the valley.
