Description Suggest change

Seven Bluffs climbing area is on BLM land in the Soda Mountain Wilderness. This crag is still currently being developed

Rock type is similar in type and style to greensprings and pilot rock, with columar-like formations. Beautiful views of pilot rock and mount Ashland. I named the area for the seven individual bluffs or cliffs jutting from the mountainside, that boast 35m (115 ft) tall routes and climbing of all types.

I had planned to keep this crag a secret until some serious development had been made, but its too good to not share with more than just friends, and could provide much climbing for the rogue valley.

This crag is a short half hour drive from ashland, and could potentially house dozens of routes, something that ashland could greatly use. There is also much potential for trad climbing here (also seriously lacking in the rogue valley!)

So far I have put up one route and about 10 sets up anchors that hang above future climbs, needing cleaning. I will update this post periodically as more work gets done and add additional climbs as they are established, but again i am happy to share it and if anyone wants to meetup and check it out or lend a hand please let me know!!

Getting There Suggest change

Starting from ashland, head out of town on greensprings highway, passed emigrant lake.  Turn onto buckhorn springs road and stay left onto tyler creek road.  Continue for 15 minutes until taking a right into baldy creek road.  Drive all the way up to near the top of the road, about twenty minutes.  Near the top there is a split in the road; stay right, where you will see a no turnaround sign.  The trail begins 30 ft past the "no turnaround" sign on the right, you will see a clearing cut out into the bushes.

The approach takes around 20 minutes.  Keep moving through the brush up the hill and you may start to recognize it as an old logging road.  It is easy to get off track, and lost up here, making it impossible to find the crag.  So check the photos linked below for a screenshot of the road leading to the crag.  Or check gps coordinates attached.

Reaching the end of the road, stay to the right and start to move down the hill for a few minutes.  This leads you to the top of the crag.  Rap down or walk the steep terrain around
