Details
Many of the boulders in this area have pertroglyps. please respect these artifacts, and not climb near or around them to ensure this area remains open.
Description
Boulder field on a hillside south of the parking lot with numerous chickenheads, plates, and 60-foot rocky pits. Climbs TBA
Getting There
(~10 min Dead Sprint) The approach uses a hiker trail that starts at the top right (south) side of the nature trail.
Head across the bridge to the Nature trail, take the right route heading up the trail to its highest point just before it turns left to connect to Cochise trail. A faint Trail to the right takes you past the Nature Crack boulder heading further into the valley staying high on the hillside parallel to the creek. There will be some intersecting hiking trials but you will be staying on the most well-traveled one. Hike this trail for 15 minutes until it intersects the creek just under the parts unknown boulder field.
The boulder field is difficult to traverse with pads so it's often easier to head back to the creek to access different subareas.
