Description Suggest change

Guangdong (广东) is a coastal province in southern China. It is of subtropical climate, so it gets quite hot and humid during summer. Winter months are usually mild and rarely has any rain or snow.

The climbing culture here is not as pronounced as its neighboring cousin Guangxi. However, there are sport climbing areas being developed in northern cities such as Qingyuan (清远). There are also quite a few high-quality boulders scattered along the beaches of coastal cities like Zhuhai (珠海) and Shaba (沙扒).

Getting There Suggest change

There are international direct flights to Guangzhou Baiyun airport and Shenzhen Bao'an airport. Alternatively, one can fly to Hong Kong and reach Zhuhai or Shenzhen by shuttle or ferry.

As with most Chinese provinces, high-speed rail (高铁) is the major mode of transportation between cities. Ride-sharing services like DiDi (滴滴顺风车) is also an inexpensive and convenient way to travel to more secluded areas.

Communication

Suggest change

Both Mandarin and Cantonese can be understood by the majority of the population here, though there are a variety of other dialects that can be unintelligible for non-speakers.

In major cities (一线城市) like Shenzhen and Guangzhou, English can he understood at a certain level.
