Description
This is the National Forest that hugs the coastline from as far north as Newport, to as far south as Reedsport. At its furthest inland, it hits Scottsburg, Mapleton, and nearly Alsea (small town near Mary's Peak).
I am not sure how much rock will be found, but for sure there is some. So this seems like a good "Umbrella" area for stuff an hour or less off the mid Oregon coast. As with most of Oregon, there is a ton of choss. Have fun hunting for the diamonds amoungst the rough.
