Description Suggest change

South/Southwest facing with full sun by mid morning until sunset. The Slab is located between the Bumbershoot Wall to the West and the Hard Rock Wall to the East. The rock is somewhat dirty with a few vegetated cracks. It is near vertical above the trail, but the angle eases after about 30'. The rock is solid and provides at least one alternative route to reach the Skyline Arete area without ascending or descending fixed lines on the West Skyline Arete trail.

Getting There Suggest change

To approach from the bottom, follow the Main Wall trail until the split off onto the West Skyline arete trail. The split to the West Skyline arete trail is just above and to the left of the 3rd class rock steps on the Main Wall approach trail. When the West Skyline trail meets the next fork, you are at the base of the Lower Skyline Slab. A trail runs along the base - to the left will be the Bumbershoot Wall, to the right will be the fixed lines in the gully leading up to Casino Wall and the Skyline Arete Areas, further to the right will be the Hard Rock Wall.

The top of the Lower Skyline Slab can be reached by ascending the fixed lines in the gully on the West Skyline Arete trail and going to the left on ledges where the fixed lines meet the Casino Wall.
