Description
The north fork of Swift Creek. The slabby E side of the canyon (Queens Gambit, & Hall of Hidden Kings) hold shade till ~11am then go back into the shade around 5pm. This trail is easy access from the road sporting a wooden bridge across the creek. The trail continues up this fork of the canyon for a bit more than 10 miles through raspberries and wildflowers. This canyon tends to hold snow longer than most in this canyon, but expect to be able to be on solid ground sometime mid to late may.
***A reminder that this crag is very close to the hiking trail so be sure to paint/camouflage any bolts! Thank you.
Getting There
Drive 3.1 miles from the gate into Swift Creek Canyon. After driving over the second bridge, the road takes a bending right where you will pass a wooden bridge on the left (through the bushes). There is parking just after on the left. Follow the well maintained trail that will lead you up through the slabs.
