Access Issue: Climbing is Prohibited
Details
December of 2024 Mountain Project received information that climbing has been prohibited for the past 2 years. Violations result in $250 fine. They have mounted trail cameras tp catch violators.
Getting There
You have two options:
1. park at the picnic canopies opposite of cactus campground. hike up and over the ridge until it deposits you into the valley.
2. park on a pull-off down the road. take an ancillary footpath that hooks into Lower Comanche trail. follow the trail north till you reach large boulders.
