Description
Lutterwand is an old, north-facing quarry with decades of climbing history. The rock quality is typically good and the climbing varies significantly from the left to right ends of the crag. Due to its proximity to Vienna, a short approach, easy anchor access, and moderate difficulty, the Lutterwand is a popular climbing area for families and beginners.
⚠️ Warning: As of summer 2024, the entire left side of the wall is closed due to rock fall (up to and including "Verschneidung").
Getting There
Tram: Take the 60 to Rodaun and continue on foot toward Waldmühlgasse.
Bike or car: From the city, head west on Kaltenleutgebner Straße and turn left on Sonnbergstraße. Limited parking can be found on Kaltenleutgebner Straße, most of which is short-term. Immediately after the old train track crossing, Waldmühlgasse branches off to the right (parking only for residents).
Follow Waldmühlgasse until a red and white gate on the left. Walk around the gate and continue up the dirt road/trails to the crag.
