Description Suggest change

This area encompasses climbs along the Middle Fork of the Piedra River. There is much potential in this area, but catching good conditions may be difficult.

Getting There Suggest change

2.3 miles west of downtown Pagosa Springs on US Hwy 160, head north on Piedra Road (CR 600). After a few miles the road turns to gravel and, though it is plowed in the winter, can be extremely slick. Continue just under 18 miles (from the highway) to a fork. Bear right on FS 636 (signs for Middle Fork), and drive a short distance to a parking area. In winter, this road is groomed for snowmobiles just beyond. Hike, ski, or snowmobile 5.5 miles to the Middle Fork trailhead at the end of the road.
