Description
This boulder is the first big block you see down in the water, right before reaching the roadside boulder. I'm sure this boulder has been climbed plenty of times, but I thought it would merit adding it to MP since its not listed in the current guidebook. It is a great, quick additional stop if you're bouldering on the roadside and diamond boulders. Some of the better rock quality in the area with some really fun, aesthetic, albeit easier lines. This boulder IS in the water so in the summer pads wont help much, but the climbing is easy and its really fun to do some "shallow water soloing". In the winter, if it has been cold enough, the shore and small boulders surrounding the main block allow the water to freeze around the boulder, making pad protected bouldering possible. Some of the lines around the back of the boulder might only be realistically accessible in the winter. Also, the position of this boulder blocks it from the wind really well. So if you're dying to get on rock, and its above freezing and semi-sunny, hop on this.
