The southwestern region of Montana holds lots of climbing, encompassing towns such as Helena, Butte, and Bozeman. If you are into boulders, sport routes, single-pitch trad, or long routes in the mountains, there is something here for you.

Please report any rusted, spinning, damaged, worn, or otherwise unsafe hardware you find within this region to the SMCC: Report a Bad Bolt, Hanger, or Anchor. If you have the means, please consider donating, so they can continue their hard work.

The Helena Climbers Coalition also has a bad bolt / anchor tool for crags in the Helena Area (Big Belts, Blue Cloud, Indian Creek, Sheep Mountain, etc.). If you would like to contribute to fixed anchor maintenance in that area and/or become a HCC member, check out this page.
