Description Suggest change

A cool run of cliffs just off the Tie Trail that are in the shade all day. The hike takes ~30 minutes (25 minutes with a hustle) to go ~1.4 miles with ~650 ft of elevation change.

There are routes waiting to be established, both sport and trad. There are also a few okay boulder problems and some sketchy highballs waiting to be established. I recommend long pants, long sleeves, and bug spray when coming out here to protect yourself from bushes, trees, rocks, and mosquitoes.

A 35 meter rope might be the perfect tool for this area. A 60 meter rope is more than enough for everything here.

Getting There Suggest change

The Tie Trail Cliffs can be reached after a beautiful 1.4 mile hike into the East Ridge Trail(ERT). To start, park at the top of Marys Peak($5 fee area) and find the trailhead for the ERT. Meander along the trail, avoiding turning onto two other paths on your way to the cliffs. After entering the trail and walking about .1 of a mile, keep left when you see the "Summit Trail" sign. In another 1.23 miles, you'll come to an intersection where the ERT either continues to Conner's Camp, or turns left into the tie trail(towards the North Ridge Trail). Keep left. Continue on this path until you find the cliffs off the right side of the trail. You'll know your close when the vegetation around the trail lowers in height. You should see a trodden path off the right side of the trail that leads to the curvy tree with webbing on it.

Currently, the best way to get to the climbing at Tie Trail Cliffs is to rappel down from the tree with webbing on it. The "easiest" way to get back up from the bottom is to scramble up the path between Coyote Wall and the balancing rock.
