Description
This cliff is the impressive looking sweep of lighter colored limestone that is visible from the main parking down one of the gullies uphill.
The wall is over 100' tall in many spots and is characterized by large bulges which give the routes varied angles throughout, including slabs, roofs, and everything in between.
Unfortunately, the wall has a layer of crusty rock which is very loose. As of Spring 2022, the routes did not seem to be clean at all. Any ascents will likely require an initial aid ascent to thoroughly clean large chunks of rock off the wall. Better to skip this cliff unless you are willing to put a lot of work into it.
With a lot of dedication, this cliff could probably hold more than 50 long sport routes, many of which would be quite difficult. However, given the rough access road, strenuous approach, and poor initial rock quality, it is unlikely this cliff will ever see its full climbing potential.
Getting There
Despite the cliff only being half of a mile from the parking, the approach is a slog, thanks to the exposure and lack of trail.
From the parking, continue until the road peters out and becomes more of a wash. Continue along the wash, heading to the left gully when the wash forks. Continue up the wash until you are close to the cliff. The best place to head up to the cliff seems to be when you are directly across from the huge, left-facing corner where most of the routes begin. Scramble up a steep and loose hillside to the base of the cliff.
Expect at least 30 minutes to reach the base of the wall.
