Description
Needles Boulder area features a unique rock formation locally known as the Needleseye. A 1.4 mile hike along the Needleseye trail will lead you to this rock formation and you can thread the needle, a long, narrow rock shelter created by house-sized boulders leaning into one another. There are a few overhanging steep sport climbing lines, a guide's wall, and some smaller boulders downhill featuring numerous moderate lines. At the time of this writing, the route information is currently unknown. Feel free to submit any information as this page grows.
Getting There
From the paved parking lot, take the trail past a garbage can and a No ATV sign and follow for approximately 1.4 miles, the trail splits (where ATVs have unfortunately created prohibited user trails) so keep turning right to stay on the main trail. Once you've arrived at the short cliffs, stay on the most obvious beaten path. There are now orange spray-painted arrows on the trees leading the way to the main climbing areas. You'll pass by numerous boulders and short cliff-line on the way to the Needleseye formation
