Description Suggest change

Several boulders scattered along a ridge line right behind the lot that Cal Trans uses to store its snow plow equipment. A handful of boulders have been developed but there is more potential if you walk to the west up the ridgeline. The granite varies in quality from bomber to loose and grainy.

Getting There Suggest change

From Shaver Lake continue up highway 168 towards Huntington lake. About 15 mins up from Shaver you will pass a sign on the right for Tamarack lodge. Continue another 1-2 mins and you will see a large paved pullout on the left. You can either park and walk or with some clearance drive down the dirt road at the back of the paved pullout. Go down the dirt road a few hundred yards and there will be a narrow dirt road to the left in between thorn bushes. Drive a few hundred yards up this dirt road and there is parking on the right. The established boulders are straight across the road from the pullout.
