Getting There
Dike Dome coords: 37.805428,-119.486401
From the the Olmsted Point parking area steps lead down from the center of the overlook area wall to a trail junction. Left goes to Tenaya Lake, straight ahead goes to "Overlook Point" and right to "Yosemite Valley." The prominence that is "Overlook Point" is east of Dike Dome, and you want to start down the "Yosemite Valley" trail (west) and leave the trail as you come to a forested shoulder in a saddle heading south east towards the canyon. The dome to your left, (west) with the very distinct horizontal dike is Dike Dome, scrambling down slab takes you to the climber's right (east) side of the dome (as you look at the topos in the guidebook).
To traverse the base walk out on the slab avoiding the vegetation until you find the route you're looking for, then bushwack up to the base. There are a few trees for shade, it's a southeast aspect so warm in the sun. Probably less than 30 minutes to get to your route. No trail is apparent.
