Access Issue: Texas Climbers Coalition Property - Now Open Details

TCC Notes - San Antonio we have good news! Medicine Wall is open for climbing. We’ve been wanting this just as bad as you and we are excited to bring outdoor climbing to the San Antonio climbers. Thanks to the Access Fund for all their hard work on this project. A couple of quick house keeping things:

✔️It is open for all to enjoy. No commercial use of the property yet.

✔️Please wear a mask if applicable and follow other CDC guidelines especially until all the routes are able to spread folks out.

✔️Trail access is at the 1604 and Shavano Creek parking lot. Eisenhower parking will be also used when it is open.

✔️Use common sense and care for the property.

✔️We will have volunteer opportunities. Keep an eye out for cleaning and trail projects in 2021!

Description

The rightmost section of Med School wall that contains a few short climbs. Basically the slab of rock between the vertical French Sport Anchor (2x Stainless Biners) on the Left and a large tree at the base nearly into Old Testament on the Right.

Above the base wall sits a medium sized ledge. The "Balcony". Sort of a right extension of Debridement or the left most part of OT this elevated area has several short but sweet climbs off of it. Access is via "Dew Point" on the right (base of OT) or the short lead section into "I Hate Cat Claw". Please DO NOT climb "First Time" to gain access. There are LOTS of loose rocks on the slope over there.
