The only access issue for this area is the seasonal closure of routes on the north side of Tom's Thumb.

Description

This is the showcase wall of the area, with an east face that rises to nearly 200 feet (one of the longest faces in the McDowells). Original exploration and establishment of routes here was done by pioneer climbers John Ficker and Jason Sandidge, known for their solid climbing skills and mentally challenging routes. Recent addition of retrobolts to their established climbs is sort of an insult, given todays climbers have better (and more) gear and way better shoes.

Getting There

After hiking in up Mesquite Canyon past the Sven Towers, continue on the trail that dips through the area above the Marcus Landslide, then settle in for the uphill hike through boulders where you will arrive near the bottom of Pissed Off and the Main Wall.
