Access Issue: Climbing is Prohibited Details

December of 2024 Mountain Project received information that climbing has been prohibited for the past 2 years. Violations result in $250 fine. They have mounted trail cameras tp catch violators.

Access Issue: River Falls Refuge Details

You technically need a river falls permit to enter the refuge

Description

A few waterfalls flow from natural cliff features just below the Lake Tanglewood dam. This rock is awful but if you dream hard and wait long enough ice can form here in the perfect conditions. There are three potential falls but only one formed up well in this once in a century freeze.
