Description
Very unique area and home to a provincial park. Cape Split is a long narrow piece of land that juts out in the Bay of Funday on the south side and the Minas Basin on the north. The north coast has the longest, steepest routes and with little to no sun they come in early and last late into the season. This area is close to the legendary Siren Song in Amethyst Cove. The rock is basalt but it is generally terrible. Stick to the ice. Walking the beach at low tide is the best way to find routes and check on conditions but there is a very convenient trail on top that leads all the way to the point.
Getting There
Getting to Cape Split is relatively easy because of the abundance of Provinical Park signs. From Nova Scotia highway 101 make your way toward Wolfville. Take the Greenwich exit and get on route 358. Follow that north all the way to the park. There is a large parking lot at the trailhead. Coordinates given on this page are for the parking area.
