Description

The Main Peak of Mt Baring. It has a precipitous north face with many fabled routes, such as the East Corner which was sieged big wall style in the 1950s. The view from the summit is excellent, and can be reached by the south side of Baring, which is gentle (in comparison) and quite brushy.

Getting There

For scramble routes on the north side, drive Barclay Creek Road to the Baring trailhead and follow climbers' paths. Serious, oft-exposed bushwhacking is required to reach the walls on the south side; see Dolomite Tower for details.
