Description Suggest change

Kolašin is a town in northern Montenegro. It has a population of about 3,000 people (2003 census) and is the centre of Kolašin Municipality. West of town there is a ski resort that also shares the same name with awesome restaurants and a town square worth exploring for an after-crag beer. It is on the way to this ski area where the first developed rock climbing at Scorpion Wall, Sectors 1&2. The Rock quality is decent and the bolting style is user-friendly, minus a few spots where the first bolts have been removed for some reason. A stick clip is useful here. Looking forward to seeing future-development in the area as there is definitely more potential.

Getting There Suggest change

From the capital city of Podgoriça, drive north for an hour on the stunningly beautiful E80 Highway (free) or take the A1 toll road (a few minutes faster). Scorpion Wall will be located a few kilometers out of town heading towards the Kolasin 1600 Ski Resort. The cliff will be on your left hidden in the trees, and parking is available on the left side of the road just after the small McGyver-style footbridge.

The lower sector approach is around 5 minutes. To get to the upper sector (2), continue past sector 1 along the trail that cuts steeply uphill past the wall. When you reach the intersection with another trail, make a RIGHT. It's easy to get turned around here since going right seems to go through the most overgrown spot. You'll see the wall after getting through a dense section of greenery, 20 minutes total from the parking.
