Description
Carshove Wall is located in the southern part of the country. The main wall is a 40 meter tall × 240 meter long striped face of limestone. The left side features a large roof and the left-middle section enjoys an over hanging lower face and vertical upper half. The left-middle section of this cliff band is vertical and and forms the tallest section of rock. As you move to the right the wall gets steeper and shorter as the features become more varied. This area will likely see very little traffic due to its isolation so don't be surprised by a little bushwack. Fortunately the wall is quite close to the road. (a few hundred meters). The south and west facing exposure offers great spring fall and winter climbing opportunity on sunny days. As of 2020 there were only 3+ routes here (4a, 6c, 8a) with lots of potential for more climbing to be opened up.
