Description
Next to the road so it's "busy" by Mineral Mountain standards, but you'll still only see a handful of cars on a weekend day and few if any climbers. There was one short bolted route here on the east face when we started exploring it but it doesn't appear to be climbed often and isn't listed on MP or in Garrett's West Desert guidebook. The formation name comes from a truck that stopped on the road and fired a gun shortly after we topped out the dome for the first time, unclear if they were shooting at a deer or at us but they missed either way
Getting There
The first dome that you pass directly next to on the way to rock corral recreation site, about 0.8 miles before reaching the picnic area, or 9.6 miles in from the junction with rt 21. Easy parking with a small campsite immediately on the east side of the dome, the road is bumpy but you can probably do it without high-clearance.
