Description

Gulcena Sector is a southeast facing wall of immaculate gray limestone that provides consistent high quality routes. This sector consists of 9 routes (2020) with grades that range from UIAA 6+ to 7+. The face may feel like an oven on clear hot days while the base remains shady and cool from the thick pine tree forest. In the fall this portion of cliff goes into the shade around 2:30.

Getting There

Gulcena Sector is located about 400 meters (5 minute walk) beyond the gazebos. This sector is clearly visible from the trail that wind its way through the forest at the base of the cliff. These trees can provide a much appreciated shady spot on a sunny day.
