Description
Named after the hometown of the three first ascensionists. This is an extremely secluded boulder because of the horrible bushwhack approach and the lack of other boulders. You can also choose to take the wet feet approach if desired by walking in the creek for most of the way, but that won't excuse you from the final bushwhack to the boulder.
Because the boulder is made of sandstone and it is rarely climbed on, there are many holds that may break off easily, so be careful. It's fun to try out the climbs if you're in the area, but why would you be in this area anyway?
Getting There
Start at the Right Fork North Creek trailhead and follow the trail down to North Creek. Once you meet the junction of where Left Fork and Right Fork meet, take the Right Fork and continue on. Follow the Right Fork for mile or so until you reach Trail Canyon. Go up Trail Canyon and stay left of the wash/creek until you find the boulder that sits slightly above the creek on a large flat area (also known as a shelf or bench). Total approach is approximately 3 miles.
