Description
The Perch is a large rock formation on Mt. Harmon. It is home to some of the best single-pitch crack climbing on base. There are bolted anchors with rappel rings at the top of Splitter and Crucifixion. The top has great views, and there is plenty of opportunity for further route development.
Getting There
The Perch is located at about halfway up Mt. Harmon at GPS coordinates 38.99524, -104.90973. Hike to the top of Papa Bear on Road 411, and turn to the West. There is no established trail, but hiking up screefields helps with avoiding the dense underbrush. The approach is hard, but the climbs are some of the best on base.
A .gpx file is posted with a decent approach route.
