Description
Located roughly halfway between Roanoke and the New River Gorge, Potts Mountain is a small area in western Virginia, frequented mostly by locals, with small boulder fields and a few top rope crags.
Getting There
From Roanoke:
Take route 311 north passing by both the McAfee Knob and Dragon's Tooth areas into Craig County. Continue through the sleepy town of New Castle. When the biome switches from deciduous to highland pine, you're in the right spot.
From West By-God:
From I-64 take the Allegheny/Crows exit and continue on route 311 south passing through Paint Bank towards New Castle. When the biome switches from deciduous to highland pine, you're in the right spot
