A pair of golden eagles regularly nest on Bridge Creek Wall. When in effect, starting January 1, PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB or travel within 1/2 mile of Bridge Creek Wall. As a reference, the climb Condorphamine Addiction is just outside of this 1/2 mile buffer, and is OK to climb still. The closure extends through August 15, but there is active monitoring to determine if the seasonal closure can be lifted earlier.
In 2014, there was an active pair of peregrine falcons at Snow Creek Wall, but no official closure was put in effect due to the location of the falcons. The site will be continually monitored with changes or removal of closures updated as necessary.
Description
Small outcrop of rock with a bunch of routes around 50 ft tall, many are a mix of gear and bolts. Several have accessible anchors to set a top-rope with a quick hike up around the left side of the formation (scrambling up right side is possible, but a bit more sketchy, and still have to walk back to the other end of the formation to access the anchors). Most likely will have the place to yourself if you are looking to escape the crowds.
Getting There
Start at The Fist boulder just after the small wood sign 5.2 mi up the canyon. Trend up left after the boulder until a fork in the trail about 5 minutes later, take the right fork (if you miss it and cross the stream, you'll eventually end up at Clamshell Cave). Continue uphill another 5-10 minutes, then left at the next obvious fork (right fork goes through some shrubs and to Mitchell Plateau with the obvious Whale boulder). A minute later you'll be at the base of the climbs.
Either scramble up directly to the ledge with the huge pine and baby pine, or hike left about 2 minutes to a low-angle chute on the right just past a large pine/slab (look for cairn) that angles back towards the ledge (also use this chute to access the top for TR setup: continue easy hike up around left side of formation).
