Description
This is a very nice small climbing area with a short approach from the road (about 10 minutes). The rock is very good quality gneiss and there are some long climbs (up to 4 pitches) as well as several single pitch climbs. Protection (bolts) have been redone recently, as have some of the routings, so many old guidebooks are out of date. Bolting is generally good where needed, though it can be run out in low-risk sections. The rock goes into the shade in the afternoon, so it is a great summer climbing spot late in the day.
Getting There
The crag is near Vernayaz. There is free parking in front of the (now closed) Hotel and Bistrot La Cascade (GPS: 46.144341, 7.030844).
From the parking lot, cross the cantonal road to and walk towards martigny... a few minutes down, you will see a trail than runs parallel to the canal. Walk on this trail for about 5 minutes till you get to a climbers trail on your right, that heads past a large boulder and ends directly at the crag.
