Description Suggest change

A unique feature of Leavenworth climbing, the Thunderdome/Mad Max boulder is home to "wildly steep" granite. Slopers and steep compression are the way here. There are a few other lines nearby.

Getting There Suggest change

This boulder is nestled below the steep hill you see when you are atop JY. Follow an obvious trail between Nosebleed and Yosemite Highball for roughly 10 meters. You'll come to a short, slightly overhanging boulder with a rail in the middle of its face and bow-shaped right arete (the White Arete). Hike over some rocks behind and right of this boulder. To your left you'll see a small rock platform with a short slab. Throw your gear up onto the platform and climb up to it (it's V-everybody). Down and to your right is Mad Max and Thunderdome. There are a 2 other ways to get here, but this is the easiest one.
