Description Suggest change

Chama Basin is a rare-to-form ice climbing area first described here on MP by SW Backcountry. If you have more information on the history of this area, please let me know. I only know my personal experience and that Doug Shepherd never found this area in condition.

Getting There Suggest change

Take the forest service road for ~6 miles from CO Highway 17, and park at the trailhead down a short road on your left. Cross the Chama River, and follow trails to your desired destination. An ATV recommended in early season and a snowmobile from CO Highway 17 after the road closes.
