Description
One of the most accessible areas even in winter. A short XC approach leads to a crag with a wide variety of routes from easy to difficult. If you’re there, you’ll be the only ones there. A nice place for solitude. Bring a tag line, most routes are 50-60m. A 70m rope is useful here. (Note: A bolted rap route was placed in the middle of the wall above Living Water. Anchor on top, and one in the middle of the wall. - 12/2021)
Getting There
(NEW Approach beta 12/2021- The logging road now continues on to just below Doggy Dome. The approach to the dome now takes 25 minutes on approach and less than 15 minutes for the descent. At the road's end (the dome will be visible above about .25 mile), park and hike up the heavily logged slope (thanks NFS) and you will encounter a very faint climbers' trail that leads up the empty hillside and then through the boulder field and up to Dogtown slab. Traverse right another 250' and then hike up through bushes to reach the main wall). (Old beta) Same approach as for the Watch Tower. Drive the same logging road up to where it ends and hike up the obvious trail/skinny road for five minutes and then bear right and cut across the hill staying mainly level for approximately 1 mile. Near the end of this hike, there will be a clearing and you will see large boulders and above that the crag. I am hoping the trail gets more defined. Maybe someone can post some GPS points.
