Description
West facing cliff over a beautiful lake in the Zec Lavigne. Camping spots located around the lake that can be reserved through the Zec. Rock quality is variable from extremely unstable to very nice depending on the sections and areas of the cliff. 30 - 50 meters tall with several lines on it. The left side of the wall contains the easier lines (5.4 - 5.10) while the middle and right section have more challenging climbs and several projects. At the present time no bolted climbs are present and a very adventuresome spirit with a willingness to climb potentially highly chossy climbs required. Rappelling the lines and securing the routes prior to climbing might not be a bad idea in certain circumstances.
Getting There
In Saint-Zenon coming from Montreal, turn left onto rang de l'arnouche and follow it until the Zec Lavigne entrance.
Pay access fees per vehicle and camping fees if necessary. They will give you a map and directions to the cliff.
This essentially tells you to follow the road signs (clearly marked lac clair) around the west side of lac Sauvage and then to drive back north to the camping des Scouts and the west side of lac clair at the end of the easily passable road section. Park there (image of parking spot added) and continue walking down the atv road for ~150m until you see the trail on the right that says escalade on a blue sign.
Follow this trail (stay right at the only intersection) for 15 or so minutes of easy walking until the cliff appears through the woods on your left.
