Description Suggest change

“Looks good from afar but it’s far from,” just about sums it up. This tower, the first granite feature you’ll pass on a hike up Bells, is quite aesthetic. From the lower falls you’ll notice its continuous cracks, wild looking slabs and a diagnaling splitter across the top pitch of the eastern summit. All this, yet of all the bell towers the far-west sees the fewest summits. A nasty approach, deteriorating rock, filthy bush-filled cracks and funky pro are the realities of this hunk of granite. Be prepared for scary adventure climbing and bring a hardy pair of trousers.

Getting There Suggest change

Hike bells canyon up past bells beast to the lower falls. Crossing above the falls is recommended as there have been several accidents resulting in attempted crossings below. If the river is roaring it’s best not to hop across at the old-timers camp per uge, but rather to hike another 200 meters upstream and cross the logs. Follow the big granite slabs skirting beneath the west bell and bush-whack beneath the gully to the base.
